I Wanted Everything & I Wanted To Cry

Matte finish white furniture. Almost Vintage/Victorian-looking.

I wanted to cry, because I'd already bought new furniture last year. Glossy finish. These weren't there at that time when I was desperate. I like my dresser, but I would've definitely picked this one over it.

In case you haven't seen my dressing table, you can go HERE

I missed seeing that tray table when I clicked these pics. Totally want it!

Can I have 2 vanities, pretty please? ;p

Sigh, I want that TV unit as well! And....

Okay, I want everything except the bed.

Pics clicked at Lifestyle Home Centre.

 Price range ~ Rs.40K +

Thank You for reading & I see you again soon! =)

Home Shopping : My Favorite Pieces

That Yellow! I am utterly IN LOVE with it at the moment! The couch doesn't fit in or match the couches we already have and it's not soft and plushy enough, otherwise.......and yes, I want that table too! So matching with the yellow couch, no? =D

These are pictures I took in Lifestyle Home Centre of the things I really liked. I wanted to share, in case you all are looking for similar pieces......or just for inspiration.

I just love this dresser! The 'belt-type' leather pullers are so creative <3 Ooh...and that stool!
There's a matching chest of drawers too - see it in the mirror there.

Price: Rs.27,960

I've been on the hunt for a bed with a quilted headboard for a while now, and this is the only one I've found so far. It's nice, but I want a taller headboard. I think this was Rs.52,000-62,000.

That's all for today. Did you like anything?

Thank You for reading. Talk again soon!

CZhome: Dressing Room Curtains, Finally!

Hi, Everyone! Just a quick update on the furnishings & decor of new home. I finally got curtains for my dressing room last week, and I am quite happy with them.
My first plan was to get floral curtains, and was kinda liking the ones below.....3rd white/grey......
......but they were quite expensive - Rs.750/meter.

So, I picked up this light pistachio green one instead, and I'm so glad, because now I think they're better than the floral ones. Since they are sheer (semi-sheer, I'd say), I don't have to draw them open every time, like I would have to do with opaque ones. You know, since it's so hot outside. They also have a nice sheen  and a grossgrain-like texture, so they don't look so flat.

Mr.CZ also pointed out that the floral ones would have overpowered the room, and wouldn't have looked very good ("Just imagine, big big in-your-face flowers right there!")

He's absolutely right! Why didn't I think of that?! =D

This fabric was for Rs.250/meter. 15 meters went into these curtains.

From: Sita Fabrics, Lajpat Nagar Market, New Delhi.

Hope you like them too!

Please don't take the other stuff you see in the pics seriously. I still don't know what goes where right now, so I just randomly "decorate".

I've yet to get some necessary things for this room:

~ A day bed or chaise that will go where that telephone stand is right now.
~ A chair/stool for my vanity.
~ Artificial flowers. Because I'm done with real ones. They die! =(
~ Etc.

Until next time......

Thank You for reading, and I'll see you again in a much-requested Shoe post soon =)

My Vanity Table

Hi Everyone! I spent most of last weekend sorting through my makeup, and somewhat organizing them. Thing is, they are not all in one place right now, coz some are still in some box. But I thought I'd show you the first stage of my vanity now, and do an update post later.
There are 3 drawers. I have to get some drawer dividers so I can arrange the makeup properly. You can see the mess there right now =D

Top Drawer ~ Frequently used lipticks, blushes, bronzers, face products, eyeshadow palettes

Middle Drawer ~ Rest of my lipsticks, false lashes, Limited Edition products, etc.

Bottom Drawer ~ I store all my hair tools, curlers, etc.

I keep all these cute Kawaii makeup right at the top: Etude House, Tony Moly, Hello Kitty Lipsticks, The Face Shop Mini Pet Hand Cream. You can see more pics of these in my beauty blog here, and use the Search bar at the top of the page.

Favorite Perfumes: Marc Jacobs Daisy, Escada Cherry In the Air, Marc Jacobs Oh, Lola!, Marc Jacobs Dot.

Here, I kept the acrylic lipstick organizer (shown on IVC here), Blushes
In the box space there, I put all my Urban Decay Naked Palettes, etc.

Heart jewelry stand (bow is a clip/brooch), kabuki brushes, MAC lipsticks (for a post on IVC here), my cutie Fizzy Moon bear that Mr.CZ got me (came with a coffee mug)

This is an acrylic organizer where I keep my everyday products ~ Brushes, Face products, mascaras, eyeshadows.

In the pink vase there, I keep eyeliner/lip liner pencils.

3 other favorite perfumes in the back: YSL Paris Rose, Mariah Carey Luscious Pink, Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy.

Eyelash Curler, tweezers, eyelash applicator, lash comb, Tangle Teezer (hairbrush), Paperchase Sticky Notes & pen, Watch (so I don't lose track of time when I'm getting ready.)

What's Missing:

Vanity Chair ~ I've yet to find one I like. I'm looking for a white with quilted cushioned look, specifically pastel pink/blue/mint.

Acrylic Makeup Organizer ~ Just one to keep some most-used products. I'll be ordering one from Ebay.

Vanity Lights ~ If it can be done, I'm planning to get lights installed/attached on the right side of the mirror & maybe top too. I don't know, I have all these ideas hehe =D

*****

Will update once the organizing is complete & I'll take you through my entire makeup collection.

Oh, for those who asked me how I keep dust away, I use this Magic Duster every other day.....

Thank You for reading & I'll see you again soon! <3

Planning A Colorful Kitchen

Let's just say if it's not pastel or colorful, it doesn't belong in my new kitchen =D

At first, I thought about making it all white & pastel, but it's so hard to find pastel kitchenware in India, so I decided bright and colorful is the way to go. These are just a few of the pots, pans, kettles & mugs that I've found and have with me me so far.

Finally got to take out my Katie Alice mint-colored mugs that I got in England.

I'm still hunting for more pink and colorful stuff- cutlery, storage containers, spice jars, tea set, etc, etc.

So will post pictures when it's complete! =)

Thank You for reading & y'all have a bright & colorful week!

New Home

We moved into our new house a couple days back, and every minute since then has been about deciding where everything goes, and getting a lot of pending work done. While I've set up part of my dressing room, my wardrobe is still almost empty!

While I set up some my toys, Mr.CZ arranged some of his. Priorities.... haha!

If you're thinking all is perfect and it's like a honeymoon for us all over again, here's a reality check.......

Yup, we've yet to tackle all those boxes! =[

My summer clothes, shoes, rest of the makeup are all still in some of these boxes.

I have very little clothes with me right now, because when we left for the UK in 2012, I'd left all the summer clothes behind. So, these days, I have to manage with less than 5 sets of home and going-out clothes.

On the bright side, we found a maid who cleans properly, not one of those who tak-tak....foosh-foosh.....finish sweeping & mopping in 15 mins  =D

Thanks For Reading & will share the progress when most things are set up properly!

Another White Vanity Table

This was another option when I was vanity table shopping. It is kinda cute, but I found it too small + I wanted more drawers + it's a bit too young. Also, I wish the stool was all white.

*Mobile phone pics

This is from Fab Furnish, an online home store that sells pretty nice stuff at reasonable prices. They have a store in Gurgaon, where they display their furniture and everything.

Price ~ Rs.15,593.

I'll show you my vanity table in a few weeks. We have to get it set up after we move to our new apartment. I myself have not seen it, except for the one at the store *sighs*

Thank You for reading & for for all the wonderful comments on my last post. My best wishes to all too <3

I'll be back with more posts shortly.

The Vanity Table I'm Giving Up

I'm finally getting my vanity table for my new dressing room in our new home (which is yet to be finalized until now.) This is one out of 3 vanity tables I've shortlisted. It was actually what I went to the store for because I'd seen it before, but then the price hasn't reduced much even after 2 years! So I'm cancelling it from my list.

What do you think? If you're wishing that I picked this one, don't worry, the other one has more features, if not better, and is much cheaper! =)

Thank You for reading. Will talk more about furniture & decor again soon! =)

Happy Valentine's Week!

Apartment Hunting

What  we want:

  • It has to be brand new (more contemporary)
  • 3-4 bedrooms.
  • It has to be bright with floor-length windows. One occupant is always with camera =D
  • It has to have a cute kitchen. Preferably white.
  • It has to have a jacuzzi or tub in at least 1 of the bathrooms.
  • Lots of storage space.
  • Wooden flooring in bedrooms, at least.
  • Balconies have to be spacious.

Below are pics of what we've seen so far. The first 4 are brand new apartments. All have servant rooms with attached bathroom.

APARTMENTS 1: These are 2 similar apartments in the same vicinity only different blocks

1st Apartment
I didn't click many pics of this one, coz I wasn't sure if it was allowed at first, and there were too many people near me most of the time, including the owner. But you can get an idea from pics of other ditto apartment below
All bedroom have big doors like that. Balconies that big in ALL the rooms! Lots of cupboards.

Opposite the master bathroom: Huge closet with double sliding doors. They were fixing that wall, that's why it looks like a big wolf.

2nd Apartment

Now the next pics are of the other ditto apartment.....
Entrance: On the right, near the front door, is a powder room &
a bedroom

Living & dining room: That's one of our property agents, white coat and all he's wearing =D

Kitchen: Similar to APARTMENT 2, but the layout is different
See in 1st pic, those long drawers are on the right side.
Basically, I LOVE white kitchens! I prefer them to dark wood types.

Bedroom

Another Bedroom

And for the USP of both the above apartments.....

HUGE balconies! This is one, there's another one just like it near the kitchen on the opposite side! Exactly what we wanted. Light all over the house. All the other balconies look like cages!

APARTMENT 2 "Penthouse"
Entrance: What's that supposed to be? Those panels. To place vases and plants? I have no idea.
Next to it is a powder room.

Why they call it a "Penthouse"? Because those stairs lead to a terrace....
Unless we're planning to maybe try growing some things up there, we're not interested =D

All windows are made like that, bedrooms & living room.

Kitchen is quite dark

Other CONS: Outside, lobby, lifts are in horrible condition! Poorly maintained.

APARTMENT 3

Living room. First turn off: the size of the window/balcony. Second turn off: those lights that change from blue to purple to pink =\
Included: Double door Fridge, Oven, Washing Machine, Dishwasher.

All bedrooms come with these white closets

APARTMENT 4 "Oldie"

This one looked lived-in. Look at the floor there, some water seepage, or something.

Bathrooms are in terrible condition

So are the balconies

That's it for now. We're liking the 1st of the APARTMENTS 1, so far. We were hoping for a higher floor, but there's nothing on the market right now, bummer. So we are basically set on that one. Also very tired of seeing more, and travelling in the car back and forth for 2 hours every time. #DelhiToGurgaon
We saw 2 apartments today, including one which is considered the most "Posh", but the apartment was very similar to APARTMENT 3, but just a little bigger. It also had the same white cupboards, only bigger. But again, the balconies are small and squarish like cages. It's our Option 2 at the moment, but I hope it won't come to that.

Okies, will post an update when things are finalized. How did you find my favorite with the white kitchen & huge balconies? I'm already googling White Fridge (with floral design maybe) MATCHING! =D
